who are we?
Covil do Corvo started from the initiative and desire to distribute books, vinyl, games, gifts, merch and other stuff in the region of rural central Portugal and beyond. We are informed by a DIY ethic and the love for beautiful books, illustrations, art, comics, music, culture and subculture and anything that is offbeat and underground.
We believe that in a world that is increasingly shaped by digital overload and the haze of a post-truth era, the physical – whether it’s a book, a painting, or a vinyl record – becomes a rare anchor. Books hold ideas but can be debated. They make us question and think rather than absorb passively. And while at it, can you compare the experience of listening to and holding a vinyl record in your hand to a spotify playlist? Efficiency and speed doesn’t necessarily equate to better quality or a better experience…
Now more than ever, it has become of utmost importance for us to cultivate spaces, where we encounter ideas at a human pace and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
